Junior Infants went for their first ever Maths trail last Friday!

It was so much fun! We found numbers and colours, shapes and all kinds of maths things!!

We visited the school garden on the way stopping to smell the herbs from the garden!

We looked out for signs of autumn too!  We saw leaves falling and the tress bare. We love Maths and Autumn

Miss Travers’ class have enjoyed planting sunflowers and cress over the last few weeks. They have taken very good care of them- feeding them and making sure they have lots of light. They are delighted with the results and some of the children even decided to replant them in the school garden!

Work in the Garden

General, Geography, Green-Schools Programme, Learning Plazas, Outdoor Classroom, School Garden, Science  Tagged , , , , , , No Comments »

We have been very busy preparing our school garden for the summer under the direction of Ms. Gillespie! The Gardening Committee and the boys from The Plazas have been weeding, planting and watering. The Gardening Committee and 6th Class painted labels and drawings on to the wooden bedding surrounds to make them look pretty. 3rd/4th Class helped Shailagh Healy to construct an Insect Hotel to attract mini-beasts in to the garden and Michael Bell talked to 1st Class and 5th Class about mini-beasts and birds we might spot in our garden. Well done everybody!!! The garden looks so pretty in the sunny weather!
