We observed what happened before and after we stirred the mixtures. Some substances like salt dissolved in the water but others like sand did not. We drew the results after.

Thank you to Shailagh Healy who told us stories about some of the trees. We brought leaf samples back to the classroom for leaf rubbings and labelling.

Lisa visited our classroom today to talk to us about energy. We formed an energy chain to show how energy moves from the sun to the wheat growing in the field, then the farmer harvests the wheat and it is made in to cornflakes in a factory. We eat the cornflakes to give us energy!

Afterwards we had a race to see which team could dress themselves well for the cold months ahead to keep heat energy inside their bodies!

Running in Rang a Dó

2nd Class, Ms. Donohoe's Class, P.E  Tagged , , , No Comments »

For September and October we are working in the Athletics strand in our P.E lessons. We watched videos of other children running and talked about what they were doing well and how they could improve. For example, we should look forward when we run. We assessed our own running skills in partners this week. Great running everyone!!!
